Frank N. Borrello, 77, of Silver Creek, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center in Dunkirk, NY. Heaven gave a wonderful welcome as he was reunited with his father and mother, George and Concetta (Flitt) Borrello and his wife, Peggy, whom he was so dedicated too. His welcoming party also comprised of six grandchildren, including Eric and Emma Borrello.
Frank was born on April 30, 1943 in Silver Creek and was a lifelong area resident. He loved his community and was a tireless and selfless volunteer at the Samuel Cimino VFW Post 6472, American Legion Post 148, Knights of Columbus and as a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church in Silver Creek. Frank was a passionate patriot for the U.S.A. and proudly served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Many locals also came to know his radiant smile during his 34 years working for the United States Postal Service, he took an early retirement as Postmaster in Sheridan, NY to take care of his dear wife, Peggy.
Heaven will be a bit rowdier when the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees play, as Frank was one of their biggest fans. There are cherished memories of how much he looked forward to annual summer camping trips to the Allegany State Park and playing horseshoes with family. Frank adored his loved ones and many knew how proud he was of each of them. He relished spending time with his son, Frank, daughter-in-law, Jenn and his grandson, Christian and savored Buffalo Bisons games. He was extremely excited when he and Peggy would fly to Florida to visit their daughter Dawn, son-in-law, Greg and their grandchildren, Madison, Alexandria, Kara, and Brandon. He was delighted to be at the hospital for the birth of his grandchildren and was present at as many family celebrations as possible. Frank’s family was the pride and joy of his life. The legacy of his gentle and loving spirit, passion for sports and zest for life will live on through them. Frank will be dearly missed by many as the genuine loving person he was, including his brother, Anthony (Tony) and sister-in-law, Deanna, several nieces, nephews, cousins and community friends.
